Donald Miller grew up in Houston, Texas. Leaving home at the age of 21, he traveled across the country until he ran out of money in Portland, Oregon, where he lives today. Harvest House Publishers released his first book, Prayer and the Art of Volkswagen Maintenance, in 2000. Two years later, after having audited classes at Portland’s Reed College, Don wrote Blue Like Jazz, which would slowly become a New York Times bestseller.

Dr. Dan B. Allender received his M.Div. from Westminster Theological Seminary and his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Michigan State University. Dan serves as Professor of Counseling at Mars Hill Graduate School in Seattle, WA. A therapist in private practice, he is a frequent speaker and conference leader. He has written a number of books with Dr. Tremper Longman, including Bold Love, Intimate Allies, and Breaking the Idols of Your Heart.

Dr. Tremper Longman III (PhD, Yale University) is the Robert H. Gundry Professor of Biblical Studies and the chair of the religious studies department at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. He is the Old Testament editor for the revised Expositor’s Bible Commentary and has authored many articles and books on the Psalms and other Bible Studies. He has written a number of books with Dr. Dan Allender, including Bold Love, Intimate Allies, and Breaking the Idols of Your Heart.

Dr. Lauren Winner has degrees from Duke, Columbia, and Cambridge Universities, including a Ph.D. in history.  The former book editor for Beliefnet, Lauren teaches at Duke Divinity School.  She is the author of three books, Girl Meets God, Mudhouse Sabbath, and Real Sex: The Naked Truth about Chastity.

Phyllis Tickle is the founding editor of the Religion Department of Publishers Weekly. Tickle is the author of over two dozen books in religion and spirituality, most recently The Great Emergence, How Christianity is Changing and Why, and The Words of Jesus: A Gospel of the Sayings of Our Lord.  She is also the author of the notable and popular The Divine Hours series of manuals for observing fixed-hour prayer.
